TRIBUTE TO THE PASSING OF INAUGURAL PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD EIGHTBAL POOL FEDERATION

LANCE SHEEN

R I P

It is with sadness that we hear of the passing of Lance Sheen, we offer our sincere condolences to his wife Laurie and his family.

In 1992 in his role as President of The Australian Eight-Ball Federation he was instrumental along with representatives from The English Pool Association and New Zealand Eight Association in forming the WEPF.

In 1993 at the first World Championships and AGM of the WEPF held in England, Lance Sheen was elected President and served in the position with great energy and passion for the game until he retired in 1998.

We thank Lance for his exemplary leadership and contribution to the WEPF, promotion of the sport at world level, and in particular laying the solid foundation for the Sport in Australia which to this day continues to be a member of the WEPF and has participated at every World Championship held.

Lance Sheen will be truly missed by the Sport of Eight Ball Pool and its vast WEPF family. We will remember his jovial, friendly character, and for those of us that were present, we will not forget his colourful speeches at opening ceremonies and presentation nights.
